Mini Kiln-formed Glass Curved Landscape – Moonlit Winter Trees

This little 3x5" winter scene is made with sheet glass, crushed glass ("frit") and a cute murrini snowy owl hidden in a tree. An iridescent moon sparkles in the sky. The irregular top is due the "rolled edge" of the base glass. The rolled edge is formed during the process of manufacturing the glass and I like to use it whenever possible for the interesting, organic shape.

The piece was created and fused flat, then draped on a curved s-shaped mold. While it's designed to be self-standing, I mounted it on a clear glass base for extra stability.

I've included an image with backlighting, but note that this piece is nearly opaque. It is best suited for shelf or tabletop display.
